After the Calling

It’s me who is squicked out. It’s me. I’m squicked, and I’m the one who wrote it. I spent way way way too much time on this, completely threw off my schedule, even opened the game after not looking at it for nearly a month, and now I’m behind in my actual storyline all for messing with this. I’ll admit I tamed it, but it’s 18+ all the same. I haven’t even touched my pictures for Part VII (C) (yes, it’s a C), or did any editing, and I probably won’t be able to until Monday, but I’ll get it out asap.

Any words that don’t seem like English… well, they aren’t, and I’ll translate at the end.

Hey hey hey! Soooooooooooooooo, it is my pleasure to inform you that the cool beans over at the Sims 2 Writers’ Alliance have adopted me into their awesome little family. I just want to thank them for reaching out, because it’s the community that really makes the sims 2 worthwhile.  This should be really cool .

I’m about to sidebar the mess out of them as soon as I can figure out how to sidebar the mess out of something. AND big thank you to S.B. for making me realize that there is no easy way to contact me. So, now, if you glance over to your right… behold an easy way to contact me.

And on a less cool, random note, if you’re interested, I finally put up Salem Beckett in the character power profiles. I had a flashback somewhere of this scene in one of my updates, and you may notice a few differences, but they’re not enormous. Cool Beans.

Okay, I am finally up and moving again. I have to admit, after the holidays, my productivity level went off to some godforsaken corner of the Antarctic to die. I blame it all on Animal Planet. I don’t usually have time for television, so when I do, I just binge on Animal Planet and all the Discovery channels. 24/7. Even the repeats. I can’t stop. Sea turtles can drown. To catch fish in really shallow water, dolphins hydroplane. They frickin’ hydroplane. Sometimes, to swim with sharks while they film them, camera men put on camouflage wet suits that work for like 4 minutes before the sharks catch on. The resulting situation is simultaneously insane and hilarious. Really, I couldn’t stop. My boyfriend staged an intervention, so I’m back. I’m lucky enough to work for my sister, so I’ve managed to wiggle my way into an extended vacation, during which I plan to put in a few super massive updates. Starting with this one!

I finally managed to download Apartment Life and tame my computer’s overwhelming urges to crash, and also discovered treeag’s freezer clock, and now I feel like my whole life has changed. I basically scraped everything I’ve done to date and have begun reshooting. Much more is possible now, it terms of posing, so my story line is also gonna do a bit of a switch up. Nothing you’ll notice, but this chapter which originally had 14 parts will be shortened to 10.

Additionally, even though AL is frickin’ awesome, my game has now decided if it can’t crash, then it will just run slower than a sleeping senior citizen while my game card gives me, maybe, an hour of honest effort before spiraling to a fiery death. It mainly affects my lighting (no mods, just maxis stupidity), so with this update, I did some lighting photoshoping. I’m not sure if it works and I like it, or if it’s annoying, but the pics might look strange. ENOUGH TALK!

Hi all! I hope the holiday hassle isn’t wearing you out!  Between work and preparing for family (…meh), I haven’t really been able to get to editing my photos for the upcoming update. Editing my pictures literally takes me about 15 minutes, because I don’t do much to them, but I just haven’t been able to put aside computer time for it.  So, to hold you over, I’ve decided to post two character profiles that I already uploaded.  The first is Roux’s and the other is Troy’s.  I was originally going to save them until the next chapter because I really like Troy’s story, and Roux’s kind of reveals something cool, if you remember a particular name-drop earlier in the story.  Roux’s “surprise” was going to come out a little farther down in the current chapter, and Troy was going to return in the next chapter, so I figured, what the heck.  I’ll try to be out with a real update asap. It might be after the 25th though. So enjoy! Links below and in the “Characters” section under Site Trimmings.

So, I have been attempting for months to jazz up my character profiles before posting them, and I really just despise them. So I’m going to scrap them.  INSTEAD, I’ve decided to make little background revealing mini-stories for each character.  The stories will be based on the character’s first manifestation of their psychic power, OR the first moment they actually became aware of their power, OR the first moment they realized it was actually a “power” that they had, and not just a fluke, or something.  It’s all really fuzzy, just go with it.

If they don’t have powers… well, I have yet to figure out what I’m going to do, so the psychics and the latents will be posted before the plain old humans or the artificial intelligence…ces…esss…s.

The characters outside of the main character will be left nameless, unless the target protagonist says their name. You may recognize some of the secondary characters, but there aren’t any true spoilers. Just certain facts that were either going to come up anyway, or will just help you learn a bit more about each character.

I’d really love some feedback on this, whether you guys think it’s a good idea, or if you actually want me to post some character traits.  We all know how I am with updating and schedules, but because these are a hell of a lot shorter than my full updates, I am going to try and crank these out a bit more often.

Very inspired by Mao’s Little Bits of Fiction, which prologues her phenoenal KiD and WoS series. And also by atomicspacekitty’s forays outside, above, under, and around her storyline over at Worlds Apart.

I won’t be posting in any particular order.  The first character story up will be Aeryn’s, but that’s only because her background bit was the easiest to set up, by far.  She can be found under “Characters” in the Site Trimmings category, or just click on her name above.
