After the Calling

It is an equal failing to trust everyone, and to trust noone.

Get this. There is a series of novels known as “The Calling Collection” by this dude (or dudette) named Caridad Pinero. And get this, the novel consists of smutty smutty smutty smut smut vampire novels with excellent names like “Blood Calls”, “Danger Calls”, “Fury Calls”, “Death Calls”, “Darkness Calls”, “Temptation Calls”, and “Desire Calls”. Although my favorite title of the entire series is… you guessed it, “Holiday With A Vampire”. I’m stoked. I didn’t mean to steal the name of an entire smut fiction franchise, but I am stoked. Because when you google either me or this series, it comes up with a mixture of “smutty smut smut smut VAMPIRE BLOOD SEX!” and “Posing Without Pose Boxes!”.  Awesome I say.  Awesome.

On a more dampened note. I was a doof and didn’t really look at any of the shots I took for the next two updates. If I had, I would have realized they were poo. I’m finaggling them right now, so I probably won’t update until obscenely late today, or sometime tommorrow YEAH THREE DAY WEEKEND… although having a job has never really stopped me from updating so… yeah.

  1. hahaha! OMG, I SO want to read it! It sounds just as good as the urban romances that my boyfriend and I like to snicker over at Barnes and Noble. Our favorite author is someone who calls him/herself- Get this- White Chocolate. *lulz*

  7. Ok, I just scrolled to the bottom of the page and apparently the author of the Calling Collection runs several webrings. You read me right, webrings. WHAT IS THIS, 1994???

Oh man, I just watched that trailer again. The mirth.

  8. I’ve decided that this author is glamorous and his/her/shis writings would make awesome christmas presents. I’m filling the stockings of everyone I know with this stuff.

  10. The Sims Writers Alliance’s great great great great grand-uncle was a webring.

It’s like a bunch of websites sitting in a circle playing duck duck goose. Except they’re all the same website.

Sense? No, of course not. You’ll find none of that here.

  11. Basically, it’s a bunch of sites that are linked together because they have something in common. This was in the days before blogs, let alone blog rolls and blogging groups like the Alliance. Seeing one is like having a dinosaur poke its head into your living room window.

If you think about the internet as a series of tubes, Veron’s duck duck goose analogy makes perfect sense. Just plot some points where the tubes intersect, draw a circle through and there’s your webring. The author of the Calling Collection is the goose. Uhhh. Yeah, come to think of it, it still doesn’t make sense. hehehehehe.

  12. No I think I get it now, LOL! It’s like a sewing circle, or a book club, or girl scouts. OK maybe not girl scouts. hehe

Thank you both for the explanations!
